Donald Goodwin Baker Sr., 65, of the 3600 block of Kings Point Road died Oct. 30, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.
Born in Brooklyn, Mr. Baker was retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years' service with a distinguished military record. He was co-owner and president of Bay Walk Food Service and a member of Atlantic Shores Baptist Church and the A.A.R.P.
Survivors include his daughter, Shari L. Stevenson of Chesapeake; two sons, Skip Baker of Virginia Beach and Scott Baker of Waldorf, Md.; two brothers, Richard Baker of Easton, Pa., and James D. Baker of Roxbury, Conn.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday by the Rev. James Wolf in Hampton National Cemetery with full military honors. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, is in charge.
