Pearl Buglia, 63, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 1997.
A native of Hershey, Pa., she had been a resident of Newport News for 41 years. She attended St. Jerome's Catholic Church. She was a volunteer with Mary Immaculate Hospital where she served for more than 15,000 hours of service. She was also the treasurer for the Auxiliary for more than 15 years and was involved in the Auxiliary fund raising. Mrs. Buglia was a member of the Peninsula Italian American Lodge where she was also treasurer.
Survivors include her husband, James J. Buglia; two daughters, Toni Parker of Hampton and Rose Holloman of Virginia Beach; a grandchild, Carlisle Parker of Hampton; and a sister, Eve Kelley of Harrisburg, Pa.
A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Jerome's Catholic Church by the Rev. Charles Saglio and the Rev. Joe Majewski. Burial will be in Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Umphlett Funeral Home. A Christian Wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
