HAZEL C. REYNOLDS

Hazel C. Reynolds, 83, known by family and friends as ``Nana,'' died Nov. 2, 1997, in Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital.

Born in Ashland, Ky., she was a retired elementary school teacher, having taught in several states while her husband served in the U.S. Navy. She graduated from the College of William and Mary, Norfolk Division (Old Dominion University), Norfolk, and retired from Norfolk City Public Schools. She was a member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, William C. Reynolds; two daughters, Ramona R. Hurd, and son-in-law, Charles, and Dolores ``Dee'' Crane, and son-in-law, Will; two sisters, Katherine C. Williams of Deland, Fla., and Freda C. Feick of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; six grandchildren, Martha Wickre, Susan Swanson, Charles C. Hurd, W. Michael Crane, David Crane and Denise Souders; nine great-grandchildren, Bennett and Mary Katherine Wickre, Christopher and Caleb Swanson, C.W. Wesley Hurd, Marshall and Madison Crane, Drew Crane and Heather Souders; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Rosewood Memorial Park by Dr. Mark Olson of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Mission Fund at Thalia Lynn Baptist Church. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
