Jack Parson died Oct. 30, 1997, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Originally from Athens, Tenn., he was a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan and the University of Tennessee. He was a veteran of World War II and retired from Old Dominion University.
Survivors include his sisters, Elizabeth Proffitt of Gatlinburg, Tenn., and Catherine Graves of Athens; and numerous nieces. He also leaves behind many special friends in the Virginia Beach area including Verona and Wilbur Debaun.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday Nov. 8, 1997, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by Dr. Paul Bailey. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be at Hampton National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
