Wallace Everett ``Buddy'' Butler, 56, died Nov. 4, 1997, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Butler was born in Windsor, Va., and was the son of the late Wallace Council and Margaret Whitley Butler. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and had retired as a supervisor in maintenance planning at Union Camp Corp. Buddy loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Bronco Rod and Gun Club, Mosby's Rangers of N.S.S.A., the Sons of the Confederacy and Franklin Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Williams Butler; four daughters, Wanda B. Blythe and her husband, Beverly, and Amy B. Vinson and her husband, Tripp, all of Franklin, Katy B. Marks and her husband, Dwayne, of Courtland, and Cindy L. Butler of Virginia Beach; a sister, Elizabeth B. Hurdle of Sunbury, N.C.; four grandchildren, Kelly M. and Brian F. Marks, Chad Robert Vinson and Kim Blythe. He was predeceased by a sister, Marie B. Griggs.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Franklin Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Roy DeBrand and the Rev. Dr. Ira Hudgins. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 7 p.m. today in Wright Funeral Home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, c/o June Duck, 100 Fairview Drive, Franklin, Va. 23851.
