EDWARD W. HELKEY

Edward W. Helkey, 67, of Burleigh Avenue died Nov. 3, 1997.

Born in Princess Anne County, Va., he was a self-employed owner and operator of a painting and home repair business. He was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret S. ``Libby'' Helkey; a sister, Carolyn Flovicak of Suffolk; an aunt, Edith Moore of Norfolk; a niece, Christine Jeter of Chesapeake; a nephew, Floyd Cutler of Norwood, Ga.; several nieces, nephews and loving friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. Clark L. Mandigo. Private burial will be at a later date. The family will remain after the service to greet their loving friends. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Caring House, 2625 Pickett Road, Durham, N.C. 27705.
