Tidewater Humane Inc. was incorrectly listed as a ``society'' and
a shelter for stray animals in a story Tuesday about bingo
operations in Tuesday's Virginian-Pilot. Tidewater Humane Inc.
sponsors a spaying and neutering program for animals, but does not
operate a shelter.
An article Sunday, ``Gilmore's car tax promise overshadows
Beyer's focus on education,'' inaccurately stated that Betsy
Williams of Richmond is a ``registered Republican.'' Although she
described herself to a reporter as a registered Republican, voters
in Virginia do not affiliate with political parties when they
register to vote.
