Norma Joan Walker, daughter of the late Cmdr. Charles and Ida Mandell of Norfolk, passed away Oct. 28, 1997.
She is survived by her brother, Barry R. Mandell of Norfolk; and children, Shaun and Russell Goeckner, Dana Barnhill, David Weinraub, Adam Weinraub and Lee Duberstein.
An Air Force veteran, Joan went on to graduate from Old Dominion University at 58, the first in her family to become a college graduate. She had a love for the arts and left a legacy of 12 wonderful grandchildren whom she loved very much. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
