Verda Lattea West, 95, died Oct. 29, 1997, in Holbrook Nursing Home, Buckhannon, W.Va. following an extended illness.
She was born in Hurst, W.Va., on Feb. 2, 1902, the daughter of the late William Henry Lattea and Dora Sprouse Lattea. On Nov. 16, 1926, she was married to Guy Mark West who preceded her in death May 26, 1960.
Mrs. West was a switchboard operator for the Peoples Telephone Co. at Vadis with 36 years of service. She was a member of the Vadis United Methodist Church.
Mrs. West is survived by two daughters, Lois W. Chrislip of Norfolk and Deloris I. West of Alum Bridge, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Thomas L. Chrislip of Chesapeake, Steven Chrislip of Chester, Va., Diana C. Carter of Pensacola, Fla., and Mary C. Quarberg of Richmond; three great-grandchildren, Jason and Ryan Quarberg of Richmond, and Courtney Chrislip of Chesapeake; plus several nieces and nephews.
Interment was at Carder Cemetery, Vadis, on Nov. 1, 1997, with services conducted by Floyd Funeral Home, Weston, W.Va. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
