Mary C. Reid of the 2400 block of Myrtle Ave. died Nov. 4, 1997.
Born in Norfolk County, she had retired as a school teacher from the Chesapeake School System after 38 years of service. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Norfolk, and a former member of Providence UCC Church, Chesapeake. She was also a member of the National Teachers Education Association, Broad Lawn Senior Citizens Group, Busy Bee Social and Civic Club, and Chesapeake Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Lemuel Reid of Norfolk; a daughter, Cheryl Bingham of Chesapeake; two sisters, Louise Freeman of Chesapeake and Blanche Powell of Norfolk; a brother, Walter Cuffee of Chesapeake; two grandchildren; a son-in-law, Donald Bingham of Chesapeake; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday in Shiloh Baptist Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Dr. John H. Foster. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park at 10 a.m. Saturday. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
