Leo N. Hoggard, 52, of the 1000 block of Melton St. died Nov. 6, 1997, in theVeterans Hospital, Hampton. He was known as ``Dukey.''
Born in Norfolk, he was a lance corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Hoggard was a truck driver for Capital Concrete for four years.
Survivors include two daughters, Seanette Batts and Glenda Rogers; three sons, Antron and Keith Collins and Leo Batts; his mother, Doris Hoggard; four sisters, Gladys Davis, Sharon, Beatrice and Diane Pleasant; three brothers, Melvin Williams, Slyvester and Rudolph Pleasant; 32 grandchildren; eight stepchildren, Tracy Elliott, Level Batts, Tanyia Moore, Todd Batts, Brian Morgan, Valerie Alexander, Angela Butts and Terry Collins; and other relatives and many friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in St. Joseph A.M.E. Zion by the Rev. Slyvester Pleasant. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at 11 a.m. at the residence of his daughter, 376 E. Brambleton Ave. for the procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service is in charge.
