James Robert Boone Sr., 87, of the 4700 block of King St. died Nov. 7, 1997.
Mr. Boone, a native of Hamilton, N.C., retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a shipfitter and rigger.
Survivors include his wife, Marie B. Boone; two daughters, Virginia D. Haywood of Portsmouth, Helen M. Denson of the Eastern Shore of Virginia; a son, James R. Boone Jr. of Chesapeake; three sisters, one brother, two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Olive Branch Cemetery. Friends may join the family Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
