GILBERT G. PAGE

Gilbert Gerald Page, 79, of the 2000 block of Haywood Ave. died Nov. 6, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.

Born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, he retired as a lieutenant from the U.S. Navy after 24 years of service. He had also retired from civil service. He was a member of South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church, where he was founder of the Tape Ministry and a past member of the Board of Deacons. Mr. Page was a member of the Retired Officers Association and a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi Rawls Page; two daughters, Naomi Louise Young and her husband, James, and Norma Lucille Sears and her husband, Larry, all of Chesapeake; a sister, Ruth Orlene Mace of Underwood, Iowa; a brother, Albert Edward Page of Council Bluffs; four grandchildren, Nancy Brophy and her husband, Pat, Gilbert Young and his wife, Lavenda, Ronald Sears and his wife, Miyako, and Kevin Sears and his wife, Danielle; and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. Amos Eby and the Rev. Willis Dowling. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
