MAYBELLE M. GODFREY

Maybelle Miller Godfrey, 92, of the 1600 block of Godfrey Lane died Nov. 7, 1997, in a Virginia Beach hospital.

Mrs. Godfrey was a native of Princess Anne County and a resident of Virginia Beach all her life. She was the widow of William O. Godfrey. She was a member of Scott Memorial United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach, and was a member of Maybelle Godfrey Circle of the Methodist Women's Society of the Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth G. Stoy and her husband, Dale of Virginia Beach; a sister, Pearl Frizzell of Virginia Beach; and four grandchildren, Mary S. Strickland and her husband Ray, Linda S. Monroe, William R. Stoy and his wife Carol, James D. Stoy and his wife, Patty; eight great-grandsons; and a great-granddaughter, two stepgreat-granddaughters and a stepgreat-great-granddaughter.

A chapel service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Rd., by the Rev. Mary Strickland. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
