Patricia Laign DeHaven, 51, of the 2300 block of Laurel Cove Drive died Nov. 7, 1997, in a local hospital.
Born in Portsmouth, she was a member of Norview United Methodist Church, Norfolk. She was a graduate of DePaul Nursing School. She helped open Bayside Hospital and was director of surgery for six years. Her final employment was with Humana Hospital, Springfield, Ill., as director of nursing when she retired.
Survivors include her parents, Harriette Nye DeHaven and Philip Laign DeHaven, both of Virginia Beach; a sister, Ann D. Carnes of Virginia Beach; a nephew, Timothy S. Carnes of Virgina Beach; two aunts, Nancy N. Hylton of Alexandria, Va. and Patricia N. Caplinger; and her husband, Curtis, of Mechanicsville, Va.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. today in Princess Anne Memorial Park Mausoleum by the Rev. Ted David of Baylake United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Food Pantry of Baylake United Methodist Church or the American Diabetes Association.
