Emily Langhorne Garlock, of the 1100 block of Crystal Lake Drive, died Nov. 7, 1997, in her home.
Mrs. Garlock was born in Richmond and grew up in Polaski, Va. She was the daughter of the late Emily Addison Langhorne and David Gray Langhorne. She was the granddaughter of the late Emily B. Addison and Edmund Brice Addison of Richmond. She was a founding member of the Virginia Beach Garden Club, a sustaining member of the Junior League of Norfolk and a member of the Princess Anne Country Club. She was a longtime member of Eastern Shore Chapel Episcopal Church and served on the Altar Guild.
Mrs. Garlock was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Fletcher Garlock. She is survived by a brother, Edmund A. Langhorne of Virginia Beach; a niece, Emily A. Langhorne of Virginia Beach; a stepdaughter, Joclyn G. Rowly of Kendall, N.Y.; and a stepson, Fletcher M. Garlock of Brockport, N.Y.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery in Virginia Beach by the Rev. Andrew MacBeth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 945, Virginia Beach, Va. 23451, or to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, 800 Olney Road, Norfolk, Va. 23507. H.D.
