Walter Earl ``Red'' White, 89, formerly of the 4800 block of Nansemond Parkway, Driver and Deep Creek, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997.
Mr. White was a member of Berea Congregation Christian Church in Driver, where he was a former deacon. He retired as an electrician from Norfolk Naval Shipyard after nearly 30 years of service. He was a past master of Harmony Lodge (NU)149, member of the Portsmouth Scottish Rite Bodies, Khedive Temple AAONMS of Chesapeake, Suffolk Shrine Club, past noble grand of Old Dominion Lodge (NU)5 IOOF and past district deputy grand of Elmer Stelts Degree Lodge (NU)2 of Norfolk.
He is survived by his brother, John Edward White of Suffolk; and many nieces and nephews of the White family.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Berea Congregation Christian Church by the Rev. Robert J. Bennett. Interment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Masonic rites. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel.
