Lewis Clifton Britt, 82, of the 200 block of Luke St., died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997, in Chowan Hospital.
Mr. Britt was born in Bertie County. The son of the late Robert Bruce and Mrs. Sue Phelps Britt, he was a retired truck driver and a member of Merry Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Gray Davenport Britt; three sons, Robert L. Britt of Norfolk, Jack C. Britt of Edenton and James Richard Britt of Wichita Falls, Texas; two sisters, Irene Perry of Merry Hill and Bobbie B. Hitt of Newport News; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Cedarwood Cemetery, Hertford, by the Rev. Thomas Biggs and the Rev. Lamar Sentell. Friends may join the family at the residence. Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, is in charge of arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
