William L ``Bill'' Staton, co-owner and president of Staton Funeral Home Inc., died Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997, in Our Community Hospital.
William Staton was employed with Branch Funeral Homes Inc. for more than 65 years. In 1993, William Staton, along with a co-owner, purchased the Staton Funeral Home in Scotland Neck. Mr. Staton was also a member of the Scotland Neck Board of Commissioners.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Reese Staton of the home; a son, William Albert Staton of New York; a brother, George Martin Staton of New York; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Scotland Neck Municipal Complex by the Rev. Waymon Walden. Burial will follow in the Staton Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today in Staton Funeral Home. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
