THOMAS L. ODOM

Thomas Lee Odom, 69, of the 5300 block of Greenplain Road, died Nov. 9, 1997,in his residence.

Born in Norfolk, he was predeceased by his parents, Thomas Lee and Eva Henley; and son-in-law, Melvin J. Butler.

He was a member of New Mount Zion Church of God Holiness and a retiree of Globe Construction Co. after 33 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie V. Odom; two sons, Ronald Odom of New Jersey and Tyrone Odom of Norfolk; two daughters, Gwendolyn McNeal and Carol Butler, both of Norfolk; a brother, Melvin Odom of Norfolk; mother-in-law, Ellen Bell; sister-in-law, Dorothy Odom; son-in-law, Charles McNeal; daughter-in-law, Ruth Odom; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; a cousin, Rosa Blount; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in New Mount Zion Church of God Holiness by the Rev. Melvin Odom Jr. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Following the interment, relatives and friends will return to New Mount Zion Church of God Holiness for repass. Friends may join the family at the residence. Graves Funeral Home is in charge.
