NEALIE N. RUDD

Pastor Nealie Nixon Rudd, 73, of the 1300 block of McDonald Road, died Nov. 7, 1997, in Chesapeake Home Health Care.

Born in Norfolk County, Chesapeake, she was a bus driver with the city of Chesapeake and retired 15 years ago with 20 years service. She was a pastor of Temple of God United Holiness Church, Norfolk.

Survivors include her husband, Elder Waverly Rudd; five daughters, Lelia Jones, Margaret Lawrence, Deloris A. Langston and Mollie R. Horton, all of Chesapeake, and Rue R. Porter of Norfolk and Nellie Bailey of North Carolina; two sons, Samuel Nixon of Chesapeake and Kelvin Nixon of Tacoma, Wash.; a sister, Dora McPherson of Chesapeake; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, five sons-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Essie B. and Samuel Nixon.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Jerusalem United Holy Church, 1602 Hoover St., Chesapeake, by Bishop Hiawatha Pierce. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Garden, Norfolk. The family will receive friends at Metropolitan Funeral Home, Norfolk, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. The body will be placed in the church Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends will assemble at 1322 McDonald Road, Chesapeake, at 11 a.m. Wednesday for the procession to the church.
