WALTER F. MILLER

Walter Frederic Miller, 76, of Charles Avenue, died Nov. 9, 1997, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mr. Miller was a native of Zanesville, Ohio, and a freight rate specialist, N.M.T.O., Norfolk Naval Base. He was a member of Fairview Heights Baptist Church, the Sunshine Club and Western Branch Senior Citizens Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Barrow Miller; two daughters, Ruth Jacobs and her husband, Robert, Marty Beacham and her husband, Jim; son, Walter F. Miller II and wife, Barbara, all of Portsmouth; and six grandchildren, Jennifer and Jeffrey Jacobs, Sherry Harrington and Paula Miller and Lori and Chris Beacham.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Fairview Heights Baptist Church by the Rev. Oscar H. Barrow Jr. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
