Jerry Edwin Rutherford, 57, of the 800 block of Mt. Vernon Ave., died Nov. 7, 1997, in his residence.
He was a native of Wheeling, W.Va., and a carpenter.
Survivors include two daughters, Marie Warren and Patricia Peterson; two sons, Robert Green and Charles Peterson, all of Portsmouth; a sister, Shelby Sykes of Chesapeake; a brother, Wayne Rutherford of Hanover County, Va.; and four grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Greenlawn Memorial Garden by Dr. Walt Coles. The family will receive friends at 1038 Martin Ave., Portsmouth. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
