Robert John Van Voorhis, 52, of the 9600 block of Atlans St., died Nov. 9, 1997, in his residence.
Born in Norfolk, he was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his stepmother, Shirley Van Voorhis and father, Richard Van Voorhis, both of Portsmouth; a sister, Linda Lawrence of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; and a brother, Ronald N. Van Voorhis of Tulsa, Okla.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Robert C. Cofield. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
