Bernice Acey Brinkley, 79, died Nov. 10, 1997, in a nursing home.
A native of Suffolk, she was the widow of Josiah Brinkley and daughter of the late Charlie E. Acey and Mary Holland Acey. Mrs. Brinkley was a homemaker and a member of Eureka Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons, Morris A. Brinkley and Ronald W. Brinkley, both of Suffolk; sisters, May Belle A. Bowden of Suffolk, Rachel A. Reckling of Chesapeake, Florence Williams of Suffolk and Flossie A. Liverman of Courtland, Va.; a brother, Charlie E. Acey Jr. of Currituck, N.C.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Eureka Baptist Church Cemetery, Gates County, N.C., by the Rev. Stewart McCarter. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the Hill Funeral Home. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
