Dr. Clifton M. Moore Sr. of the 4000 block of Cedar Grove Crescent died Nov. 8, 1997, in Norfolk.
Dr. Moore retired after 40 years and was a member of Little Zion Baptist Church, Chesapeake. He was the first black member of the Chesapeake School Board. He was past president of the medical staff and past head of Internal Medicine at Norfolk Community Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Elvy Simmons Moore; a daughter, E. Paulette Battle; two sons, Clifton M. Moore Jr. and Sherwood B. Moore, all of Chesapeake; and two brothers, Holland and William Moore.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. today in Little Zion Baptist Church, Chesapeake. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Hale Funeral Home is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
