CHARLES F. WOOD

Charles Francis Wood, 78, of the 8000 block of Merritt St. died Nov. 12, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.

Born in Rhodell, W.Va., he was a retired surveyor for Langley & McDonald and a member of Brentwood Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Katherine L. Wood; two daughters, Frances L. Thompson and her husband, John, of Norfolk, Carolyn S. Boggs and her husband, William C., of Chesapeake; two brothers, Robert ``Bob'' Wood of Beckley, W.Va. and Lewis ``Tink'' Wood of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Terri L. McMillan of Norfolk, Kathy A. Cupp and her husband, Darrell, of Norfolk, Charles R. Boggs and his wife, Kathi, of Chesapeake, John M. Thompson and his wife, Jennifer, of Norfolk; and a great-grandchild, Travis Jenkins of Chesapeake.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Hobert, Johnson, Pete, Bill and Paul; and two sisters, Anna Bennett and Maxine Zingo.

A funeral will conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. Jay Slater. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
