William E. Rodgers Sr., 65, of the 6200 block of Centenary Drive died Nov. 9, 1997, in his home.
Born in Norfolk County, Va., he was a past member of Family Baptist Church, Portsmouth.
Survivors include his wife, Lee Rodgers of Ahoskie, N.C.; three daughters, Renee Al-Amin of Goldsboro, N.C., Regina Rodgers and Rosina Rodgers, both of Ahoskie; three sons, Robert Earl Rodgers of Goldsboro, William Eugene Rodgers of Springfield, Mass., and Tarris Rodgers of Chesapeake; a brother, Joseph Rodgers of Portsmouth; 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends incuding a very special dear friend, Ophelia Skinner of Portsmouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Corprew Funeral Home, by the Rev. Raymond Powell. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at the funeral home will begin at noon today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
