The City Council took the following action at its meeting Tuesday:

PUBLIC HEARING

Brighton/Prentis Park Neighborhood: Alternative Behavior Services, (First Hospital Corp.), requests a rezoning from Residential Multi-Family RM-75 to Residential Office R-75-K at 1801 Portsmouth Blvd. Approved, 7-0

Churchland Commercial Neighborhood: Kent Czerwinski requests a use permit to operate a storage/warehouse facility at 3204 Tyre Neck Road. Approved, 7-0

Citywide: Proposal to amend the Zoning Ordinance pertaining to communication towers and telephone communication uses. Approved, 7-0

Citywide: The City of Portsmouth requests a Code Amendment to provide for Residential Opportunity Districts. Approved, 7-0

Citywide: The City of Portsmouth requests a Code Amendment to provide for Residential Opportunity Districts. Approved, 7-0

Ebony Heights Neighborhood: The City of Portsmouth requests a Code Amendment to establish a Residential Opportunity District within the Ebony Heights neighborhood. Approved, 6-0; Griffin abstained

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

CITY MANAGER'S REPORT

Adoption of an ordinance closing a portion of Lockport Street between Peninsula Avenue and London Boulevard; authorizing the City Manager to release a retained public utility easement at the appropriate time; and to execute such other deeds and documents as may be necessary and appropriate to development of the adjacent site. Approved, 7-0
