N. ELIZABETH HINES

Nora Elizabeth ``Betsy'' Hines, 76, of the 900 block of Bishop Place died Nov. 14, 1997, at Obici Hospital.

A native of Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Mae Price Womack and Frank Wilson Womack. She enjoyed seascape painting and she was a former member of Suffolk Presbyterian Church. In her later years, she became a member of the Suffolk Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, H. Stanley Hines of Suffolk; two daughters, Betsy Len Darden and Anna Pat Hines, both of Virginia Beach; a brother, Frank W. Womack of Lexington, N.C.; two grandsons, David A. Darden III and Michael Trenton Darden; and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Holly Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Michael D. Halley. The family will receive friends in the R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Red Cross, 109 1/2 Clay St., Suffolk, Va. 23434; The Salvation Army, 400 Bank St., Suffolk, Va. 23434; or to The Suffolk Christian Church, 216 N.
