ROBERT LAWRENCE SR.

Robert Lawrence Sr., 69, of the 500 block of W. 26th St. died Nov. 9, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Born in Scotland Neck, N.C., he retired from the City of Norfolk after 20 years of service and he was also employed by the state.

Survivors include his wife, Georgianna Lawrence; two daughters, Betty L. Lawrence and Deborah A. Stovall; three sons, Robert Lawrence Jr. of St. Paul, Minn., Anthony Lawrence Sr. of Windsor, N.C., and U.S. Army, retired, Joseph C. Lawrence of Alaska; two sisters, Mary Lawrence of Scotland Neck and Josephine Doyle of New York; four brothers, Charlie Lawrence of Greensboro, N.C., Madison Lawrence of Norfolk, Timothy Lawrence of New York and Roosevelt Lawrence of New York; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Gatsy Lawrence and Charlie Lawrence of Scotland Neck.
