NANNIE B. LEX

Nannie B. Lex, 92, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997.

A native of Halifax County, Va., she had been a Peninsula resident for 71 years. Mrs. Lex was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Newport News. She was an avid fan at her children's and grandchildren's sporting events. Her family and home were her love and greatest achievement.

Mrs. Lex was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Lex Sr.; her son, George J. Lex Jr.; and her granddaughter, Nancy Lee Lex. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Hilling and her husband, Harry, of Hampton; her son, Joseph T. ``Buddy'' Lex and his wife, Martha, of Norfolk; her daughter-in-law, Mazie H. Lex of Burke; her brother, Edward Dallas Hamlet and his wife, Margie, of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three nieces.

A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today in Peninsula Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:30 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Jerome Catholic Church by Father Joseph B. Majewski.
