Clarence V. ``Buddy'' Ellison Jr., 74, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., died Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997, in Columbia Medical Center, Port St. Lucie.
Originally from Chester, Va., Mr. Ellison moved to Port St. Lucie seven years ago from Virginia Beach. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II and worked at the Ocean View and Norfolk post office for 33 years. Mr. Ellison was an avid gardener known for his prize-winning tomatoes.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Ellison Murphy of Bonita Springs, Fla.; two sons, Clarence V. ``Gary'' Ellison III and Charles E. Ellison, both of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Virginia Mohney of Williston, Fla., and Kay Saunders of Hopewell, Va.; six grandchildren, Angela Dixon, Anthony Riggs, Faith Ellison, Elizabeth Riggs, Clarence V. Ellison IV and Karen Ellison; two great-grandchildren, Haley Dixon and Emily Dixon.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel by the Rev. Morris A. Bennett. Burial will follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
