ADDIE C. MILLER

Mrs. Addie Clark Miller, of the 1100 block of Charleston St., was called by gentle voice on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 15, 1997, and slipped peacefully into eternal life with the Heavenly Father.

She was a native of Gates County, N.C., and was one of three children born to Herbert and Adlener Knight Clark; she was the wife of the Rev. Wilbert R. Miller Sr.

She was a member of Brotherly Love C.O.G.I.C where her husband is pastor. As the first lady of the church, she worked diligently for years to help strengthen the ministry. She was active on the Mothers Board, Business and Professional Women Association and state president of the Purity Class. She was also a member of the Titustown Civic League.

In addition to her devoted husband of 65 years, she will be sadly missed by a daughter, Mary E. Collins; a son, Wilbert R. Miller Jr.; and a sister, Willetta C. Fayton. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Sharon Williams, Laverne Faulkner, Angela Miller, Sandra Clark, Christopher Collins, Jesse Collins, Keith Collins, Kishara Bryant, Rositor Lee and Robert Lee; 10 great-grandchildren, David Cory Miller, Aretha Williams, Billy Williams Jr., Shalaina Miller, Lawrence Faulkner Jr., LaShannon Faulkner, Lanita Faulkner, Tamika Clark, Anisha Clark, and Dujan Bryant; three acquired grandchildren, Sherita, Dinita and Tamika Creekmore; a goddaughter, Patricia Gregory; a godson, Jamaal Ameen; and a host of nieces, nephews and very special friends, among them Rose Wiggins, Katie Williams, Robin Harris, and Michelle Perry. She was predeceased by a son, David L. Miller.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in New Hope C.O. G.I.C., Brest Ave., Norfolk, by Dr. Herman Clark Sr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. The body will be placed in church at 11:30 a.m. Thursday. The family will be at the residence.
