William N. Hughey Sr., 83, died Nov. 14, 1997.
Born in Statesville, N.C., he married Mercedes ``Pete'' Hunt of Richmond Nov. 19, 1934. Bill moved his family to Virginia Beach in 1962 just after the Ash Wednesday storm. There he managed the newly opened Beach Bay Marina. He shared a passion for rock fishing with his wife and was a member of Wycliffe Presbyterian Church since its charter in 1964.
In addition to his wife, ``Pete,'' of 63 years, he will be sadly missed by his children, Nick, and the twins, Kay and Pat. He was predeceased by his daughter, Ann.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Wycliffe Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be made to your local SPCA or the charity of choice. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
