HANNAH L. KIRKMAN

Hannah Louise Kirkman, 71, of the 2900 block of E. Princess Anne Road died Nov. 18, 1997, in Sentara Leigh Hospital.

Born in Grimesland, N.C., she was a retired beautician and a retiree of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where she worked as a nursing assistant for 13 years. Mrs. Kirkman was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk, and secretary of the nurse's unit.

Survivors include her husband, Allen Kirkman Sr.; three daughters, Sharon Y. Griffin of Chesapeake, Patti F. Haley and Lisa P. Kirkman, both of Virginia Beach; a stepdaughter, Patricia Shepard of New York, N.Y.; two sons, Lt. Col. Allen Kirkman Jr. of Belmont, Mass. and Reginald Kirkman of Waianae, Hawaii; four sisters, Lonia Winchester, Brooklyn, N.Y., Queenie Taft of Greenville, N.C., Joann Rountree of Grimesland, Lillian Stokes of Indianapolis, Ind.; two brothers, Paul Gatlin of New York, N.Y., James Gatlin of Grimesland; grandchildren, Tracey Kirkman, Bakari Haley, Kennita Haley, Rauve Haley, Ashley Kirkman, Kristen Haley and Ariah Kirkman.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Dr. I. Joseph Williams. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk.
