MARGARET M. WOOLARD

Margaret Nettleton Mauk Woolard, 97, died Nov. 17, 1997, in Salina Regional Health Center, Penn Campus.

She was born Feb. 11, 1900, in Lenora, Kan. A lifelong resident, she was a home economics teacher for Havensville and Mulvane, principal of Potter High School in 1944, and from 1946 to 1960, a Saline County Home Demo Agent and a sales representative for Wadell & Reed. She was a member of University United Methodist Church, Home Builders Sunday School Class, Altrusa Club, Art and Home Culture Club, president of the Kansas Home Demo Agents in 1948, and secretary for National Home Demo Agents Association in 1949. She was predeceased by her husband of 16 years, Ezra Perle Mauk and her second husband of 10 years, Charles Woolard.

Survivors include her son, Donald L. Mauk of Portsmouth; stepsons, Rupert G. Woolard of Mansfield, Texas, Orville T. Woolard of Fort Scott, Kan., and Louis E. Woolard of Wichita, Kan.; her daughter, Doris E. Pankratz of Island Falls, Maine and Manhattan, Kan.; stepdaughter, Della Burch of Salina; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in University United Methodist Church, Salina, by the Rev. Robert Conway. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina. Memorials may be made to University United Methodist Church, 1509 South Santa Fe, Salina, Kan. or Presbyterian Manor. Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
