Ward Laverne Tordoff, 78, of the 300 block of Leonard Road, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 19, 1997.
A native of Estherville, Iowa, he had retired from Swift Chemical Co. and was the co-owner of Fran's Antiques, Chesapeake. He was a member of Green Lakes Baptist Church. Mr. Tordoff was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who received the Purple Heart during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Tordoff; two daughters, Brenda Nobrega, and her husband, John, and Sheila Andrews, and her husband, Robert; a son, Gerald Tordoff, and his wife, Peggy; a sister, Beverly Randall; a brother, William Tordoff; and 11 grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Revs. Don Sheffield, Gregory Kitts and Earl Freeland. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
