MICHAEL J. DELANEY

Michael Joseph Delaney, 37, died Nov. 17, 1997, in his residence.

A native of Chowan County, N.C., he was the son of the late Dolores Barber Delaney Nixon and the late Brendon Phillip Delaney. Mr. Delaney was a sergeant first class in the Army Special Forces.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Sawyer Delaney of New Hampshire; a sister, Patricia Delaney of Raleigh, N.C.; two brothers, Joseph Delaney and Thomas Nixon Jr., both of Edenton, N.C.; and a stepfather, Thomas Nixon Sr. of Edenton.

Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Rocky Hock Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Nixon Family Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home, Edenton, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
