EVELYN H. BURCH

Evelyn Holland Burch, 75, formerly of Suffolk, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997, at Obici Memorial Hospital.

A native of Suffolk, she was the widow of Henry Clay Burch and daughter of the late Mary Edwards Holland and Charlie Holland. She was predeceased by her brother, Chanin Holland. Mrs. Burch was retired from Planter's Peanuts and was a member of the Suffolk Christian Church and its West Memorial Bible Class. Since 1994, after suffering a stroke, Mrs. Burch had resided in Fredericksburg with her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Linda Burch.

Other survivors include two grandsons, Robert Burch of Greensboro, N.C., Matthew Burch of New York City; a brother, John Holland of Hampton; three sisters, Louise Holland of Norfolk, Betty Morris of Hampton and Virginia Mehalko of Suffolk; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and her fiance of many years, Lawrence Fields.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Suffolk Christian Church by the Rev. Michael D. Halley. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m today and other times at 1002 McArthur Drive. Memorial donations may be made to Suffolk Christian Church Building Fund, P.O.
