David Miller ``Bubs'' More Jr. of the 1300 block of Bill St. died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997, in his home.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he retired from the Navy after 21 years of service. He also retired from the ILA Union No. 1840. He enjoyed attending reunions with his many shipmates from the USS Smith, Pennsylvania, Lindenwald, Wyoming, Larson, New Jersey, Adirondack and Chilton. He received nine battle ribbons from Pacific operations in World War II.
Leaving the Port of Norfolk for the last time he will go to join his wife of 46 years, Gertrude R. More, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his second wife, Dalphine; two sons, David M. More III of Norfolk and Larry R. More and his wife, Diana, of Norfolk; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by Port Chaplain Harold Buckwalter of the International Seamen's House. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Navy Relief Fund. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
