BETTY S. HASSELL

Betty S. Hassell of the 2700 block of Dunkirk Ave. died Nov. 18, 1997, in a local hospital.

Born in Norfolk, she was a former member of St. Mark RZUA Church.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Francine Cox; a great-grandson, Cornell Lewis of Norfolk; a great-great-grandson, Langston Lewis; three sisters, Shirley Grant and her husband, Eugene, Joan Young and her husband, Johnny, and Barbara Hassell, all of Norfolk; two brothers, Horace Hassell and his wife, Evalena, and Edward Hassell, all of Norfolk; an aunt, Lena Whitley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Bertha Lewis.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in St. Mark RZUA Church by the Rev. Alvin B. Thomas. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Cemetery. Graves Funeral Home is in charge. The family will receive friends at 3305 Dunkirk Ave. ILLUSTRATION: Photo KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY DEATH OBITUARY
