Mary ``Sherry'' Sheridan Coleman Wood, 85, formerly of Scottsville, Va., died Sunday Nov. 23, 1997.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lewis Wood Jr., and her parents, Theodore and Eileen Coleman.

Mrs. Wood had been a Scottsville resident since 1955, and was an active member of St. George's Catholic Church. She had served as president of the Fairhaven Garden Club, Friends of the Library and was an associated member of the Scottsville Chapter No. 1167 United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Elizabeth McCaskill, and her husband, Charles Bruce McCaskill Jr.; one sister, Audrey Rita Coleman; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Ashley Berkebile, and her husband, Robert Scott Berkebile, Charles Bruce McCaskill III and George Douglas McCaskill; one great-grandchild, Faith Elisabeth Berkebile, all of Virginia Beach.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. George's Catholic Church, Scottsville, with Father Ralph Hamlet officiating. Interment will follow at Scottsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home, Scottsville, today from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Scottsville Rescue Squad, P.O.
