Brother Reginald K. Land, 46, of the 700 block of Culpepper St. died Nov. 23, 1997, in his residence. He was known as ``Night Train'' and ``Pretty Red.''
Born in Norfolk, he retired as a materials handler in 1995 for the Naval Supply Center with six years of service. He was affiliated with St. Mark RZUA and Queen Street Baptist Church and participated in the Freeman Memorial Sanctuary Choir, Queen Street Baptist and Gospel Choir, New Central Baptist Church. He was a member and a past master of Providence Lodge No. 189, Chesapeake. He was a member of American Legion Post 5, Norfolk, and Benevolent Order of Elks 1033, Deep Creek. He was a past Grand Tyler of Grand Lodge PHA of Virginia and past president of Johnnie F. Sivills Council.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Pugh-Land; three daughters, Shelia Land, Shelly Moss and Tenisha Land, all of Norfolk; three sons, Michael Pugh of Cleveland, Ohio, Vincent Pugh of Portsmouth and Calvin Pugh of Glen Allen, Va.; his father, Moses B. Land of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Tempie L. Simms and Annette Land, both of Staten Island, N.Y.; a brother, Lloyd Land of Staten Island, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; a stepmother, Mrs. Peggy Land of Virginia Beach; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in Queen Street Baptist Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Peter M. Wherry. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk. Metropolitan Funeral Home is in charge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Reginald K. Land Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 4684, Norfolk, Va. 23523.
