JAMES M. WEST

James Millard ``Bubba'' West, 66, of the 5900 block of Glenhaven Crescent, joined his father, mother, brother and the Lord in heaven on Nov. 25, 1997.

A native of Norfolk, he graduated from Granby High School, and was a deacon and active member of Larchmont Baptist Church in Norfolk. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1981 as a chief master sergeant after 30 years of dedicated service. After his retirement from the Air Force, he was employed by CACI Corp. and the Jonathan Corp. until 1993.

Mr. West is survived by his wife, Beverly Broach West; their five children, James M. West Jr. and his wife, Jacqueline Cooper, of Virginia Beach, Cynthia Borte and her husband, Mickey, of Norfolk, Susan Davis and her husband, Ben, of North Augusta, S.C., Marjorie Dawkins and her husband, Eddie, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Virginia West and her husband, Allan Wolf, of Asheville, N.C.; his nine grandchildren, Daniel and Blake West, Shelley, Shauna, and Gerrad Borte, Shannon, Amanda and Katy Davis, and Simon Wolf; and his mother-in-law, Mrs. E. Stanley Broach.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Larchmont Baptist Church by the Rev. John Dean with burial immediately following at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Larchmont Baptist Church. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements. His family will receive friends at the residence.
