ROBERT D. BEAMAN SR.

Robert Dunning Beaman Sr., 82, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997, in the veterans hospital.

He was born in Lunenburg County, Va., the son of the late Sallie Dunning and John Branch Beaman. Mr. Beaman served for 40 months in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Combat Infantryman's Badge, South Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippines Campaign Medal and the Victory Medal.

He is survived by twin sons, Robert D. Beaman Jr. of Newport News and Albert G. Beaman of Lanexa; four sisters, Sarah Lee B. White of Ennis, Texas, Jessie B. Fischer, Elizabeth B. Saunders and Ellen B. Beamon, all of Norfolk; two brothers, Thomas G. Beaman of Salem, Va. and Winfield S. Beaman of Norfolk; and two granddaughters, Amanda and Lindsey Beaman of Lanexa.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Cox Funeral Home Chapel, Norfolk, by Pastor Rich Hardison. Burial will be in Poplar Springs Cemetery, Franklin, Va. at 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
