Norman Earl Lane, 89, of the 100 block of Mexico Road, died Nov. 25, 1997, in Chowan Hospital.
A native of Chowan County, Mr. Lane was the husband of Essie Copeland Lane and the son of the late Charles Henderson and Sarah Elizabeth Spruill Lane.
Mr. Lane was a retired bridgetender for Norfolk-Southern Railroad, and a member of the Railroad Brotherhood. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Beaver Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Bob Young. Memorials may be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church Building Fund, 1004 Macedonia Road, Edenton, N.C. 27932. The family will be gathering at the home of Carl and Ruth Lane, 339 Mexico Road, Edenton. Evans Funeral Home, Edenton, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
