PAUL G. O'BRIANT WILL TAKE OVER AS PRINCIPAL OF CURRITUCK HIGH

School Superintendent William ``Bill'' Dobney has named Paul G. O'Briant to replace David B. Sutton as principal of Currituck County High School.

O'Briant was the vocational director and technology coordinator for the school system. He has worked for Currituck Schools since 1987. The change will take effect Monday.

``Organization is a very important quality that's necessary to be a successful high school principal,'' Dobney said in a release issued Tuesday. ``Mr. O'Briant is very organized and is also experienced in developing budgets and new curriculum. Additionally, he is up-to-date on new technological advances.''

Dobney named Sutton as director for alternative programs and technology. Sutton had been principal at Currituck High School since the fall of 1996.

James ``Bo'' Callison will become the new vocational director. Callison served in that position from 1984 to 1989.
