Johanne B. James, 65, of the 1900 block of Robert Hall Blvd. died Nov. 24, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.
She was a professional roller skater with the Flying Dowdy's of Norfolk and was on the cover of the Navy Guide in 1957. Born in Clayton, Del., she was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, William David James Jr. of Williamsburg; four sisters, Marie Barham of Norfolk, Mary Skalski of Riverton, N.J., Delores Scrogrum of Fredericksburg, Va., Loretta Stephens of Chesapeake.
The family will receive friends at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Cardiac Care Unit of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
