WILLIS H. COOPER

Willis Hugh ``Buddy'' Cooper, 72, of the 1400 block of 38th St., died Sunday evening Nov. 23, 1997, in the Veterans Hospital.

Willis was born in Princess Anne County, Va., and was the son of the late Hugh Cooper and Flossie Cooper. He was educated in the Princess Anne County Public School System. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Willis was formerly a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Owens Cooper and a sister, Mildred Parson Whitfield.

Survivors include two daughters, Gloristine Williams of Virginia Beach, Linda Cooper of New York; a son, Willis M. Cooper of Chesapeake; a sister, Evelyn Whitehurst of Virginia Beach; a brother, Lloyd Cooper of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

A funeral will be held at noon Friday in New Hope Baptist Church, Virginia Beach. P.G. Thomasson Funeral Service is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
